Course Overview

Practical Context Before the Next Decision.

Supervisors are often the first people to see changes in performance, behavior, attendance, judgment, or wellbeing, but recognizing a concern is only the beginning. This course helps leaders respond deliberately when an employee may be experiencing trauma, depression, substance misuse, cumulative stress, or another high-risk condition. The discussion connects early recognition with documentation, communication, available resources, accountability, and the limits of a supervisor's role. Participants examine how to support the employee without ignoring performance or safety concerns, how to avoid common leadership mistakes, and how to coordinate an appropriate organizational response.
