Aspirant Consulting Group is pleased to announce that retired Inspector Michelle J. Caron has joined the firm as a Senior Consultant.
Michelle completed a 23-year career with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., where she developed broad experience across patrol, investigations, training, policy, use-of-force review, special operations, and organizational leadership. Her career reflects the combination of operational credibility, command experience, and practical perspective that Aspirant seeks in its consulting team.
During her service with the Metropolitan Police Department, Michelle led specialized units including the Special Operations Division and became the first woman to lead the department’s Tactical Patrol Branch. Those assignments required her to coordinate personnel, manage complex operations, establish clear expectations, and make consequential decisions in environments where conditions could change quickly.
Michelle also played a key role in managing multiple National Special Security Events and other major operations in the nation’s capital. Her experience includes presidential inaugurations and funerals, the NATO Summit, and the department’s response to civil unrest in 2020. These events required detailed planning, coordination across organizations, disciplined communication, and the ability to translate broad objectives into operational direction for personnel working in demanding circumstances.
Her experience is not limited to command and special operations. Michelle served in patrol, investigative, and training roles and participated on the department’s Use of Force Review Board. That combination gives her a practical understanding of how policy, supervision, training, operational decision-making, and organizational accountability intersect. It also allows her to approach consulting and instruction from multiple perspectives, including those of the officer, supervisor, instructor, reviewer, and command leader.
Before entering law enforcement, Michelle worked in communications roles with ESPN, the NFL, and agency teams. That foundation continues to inform how she approaches leadership, communication, and organizational work. Effective public-safety leadership depends on more than operational knowledge. It also requires the ability to communicate expectations, explain decisions, coordinate people and resources, and maintain credibility during routine operations and high-pressure events.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ithaca College, a Master of Arts in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master of Science in Management from Johns Hopkins University. She is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the PERF Senior Management Institute for Policing. Born in the Netherlands and raised in the United States, she brings a global perspective and an ability to connect across cultures and professional environments.
At Aspirant, Michelle will support work involving leadership development, policy review and development, training, critical-event planning, organizational management, and communication. Her role allows her to contribute across consulting and instruction based on the needs of each agency and engagement.
Michelle’s addition strengthens Aspirant’s ability to support public-safety organizations with practical consulting and training grounded in direct experience. Her background brings an important command-level perspective to the firm and expands the expertise available to the agencies, officers, supervisors, and executives Aspirant serves.
