Aspirant Consulting Group is proud to announce that Chief Quillan Short has joined the firm as part of Aspirant Ohio. His addition further strengthens Aspirant’s ability to support Ohio public safety agencies with policy development, Ohio Collaborative certification, accreditation readiness, professional standards, leadership development, organizational assessment, and broader public safety consulting services.
Chief Short brings more than 24 years of dedicated Ohio law enforcement experience to Aspirant. He currently serves as Chief of Police for the Hamilton Township Police Department in Ohio, where he has spent his career serving the Hamilton Township community. Throughout his career, Chief Short has progressed through a variety of investigative, supervisory, command, and executive leadership roles, including Detective, Detective Sergeant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief of Police.
Chief Short has developed significant expertise in professional standards, organizational leadership, and accreditation. He has helped guide the Hamilton Township Police Department through compliance with the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board standards and the Ohio Collaborative Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. Through this work, he has gained practical experience in the accreditation process, policy implementation, and the application of professional standards that promote accountability, transparency, and effective policing.
In his role with Aspirant Ohio, Chief Short will support agencies in several key areas, including policy review and development, Ohio Collaborative certification support, accreditation readiness, implementation and maintenance, professional standards, leadership development, organizational assessments, and public safety best practices. His background as a police chief, command officer, investigator, and accreditation leader allows him to provide realistic and actionable support grounded in both executive leadership and day-to-day law enforcement experience.
A strong advocate for continuing education and professional development, Chief Short earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Gateway Community College. He is also a recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award, recognizing his successful completion of advanced leadership training focused on executive leadership, organizational management, and strategic decision-making.
Chief Short also completed the FBI Police Executive Fellowship Program with a concentration in Transnational Organized Crime Detection. This advanced program provided specialized knowledge in identifying, investigating, and addressing complex criminal enterprises that impact local communities and public safety.
As Chief of Police, Chief Short is committed to fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, innovation, and community partnership. His leadership is guided by a dedication to public service, officer development, and the continuous pursuit of excellence in modern law enforcement.
